We’ll be celebrating in a forest setting, so please opt for comfortable shoes that can handle the natural terrain (we advise no heels).
Where is Ashford, Washington?
It’s approximately 80 miles from Seattle to Ashford. Depending on which route you take, most trips will last just over an hour and forty minutes. Usually, the fastest route is to take Interstate 5 southbound to 512, then to State Route 706. Please consult your GPS for current road conditions.
Should I rent a car?
Yes — we strongly recommend renting a car. Rideshare options are very limited in the Ashford and Mount Rainier area, and a car is the easiest and best way to get to the venue and explore the park. There will be a shuttle the day of our wedding.
Will we have cell service?
Cell service is limited to non-existent in many parts of Ashford and inside Mount Rainier National Park. We recommend downloading maps and directions in advance.
What will the weather be like?
Weather in the Mount Rainier area can vary — expect cool mornings, mild afternoons, and the possibility of rain even in summer. Layers, comfortable shoes and a jacket are highly recommended.

Is there food nearby?
Yes — Ashford has several casual restaurants, cafés, and lodges within a short drive of the venue. We recommend stocking up on snacks, drinks, and water on the way in.
Can we explore Mount Rainier during our stay?
Yes... we encourage it! The park is just minutes away and offers hiking, waterfalls, and scenic viewpoints for all experience levels.
Do we need a National Park pass?
Only if you plan to enter Mount Rainier National Park. The wedding venue does not require a park pass. If you do visit the park during your stay, a 7-day entrance pass can be purchased at the gate or online in advance.
Can I see Mount Rainier from the venue?
The venue is surrounded by beautiful forest, but mountain views are best experienced inside Mount Rainier National Park and at nearby viewpoints.
Do we need bear spray for hiking?
We recommend bringing bear spray for guests planning to do more remote or less-trafficked hikes in Mount Rainier National Park. While most popular areas — including Paradise, Reflection Lakes, and major waterfall stops — are well-traveled and typically explored without it, it can provide added peace of mind.
If you choose to bring it, please note that it cannot be flown with, so it must be purchased after landing in Seattle. REI in Southcenter (10 min from airport) is the most reliable place to pick it up on the way to Ashford.
